Writer's Block: Coast Range [09 Jan 2009|01:39pm]
If you had to choose, would you rather live in the mountains or by the ocean?
By the ocean. I'd go swimming every day. The mountains would be cool - I actually lived in the mountains twice - Mount Pleasant, haha - and Putney, Vermont - but I love swimming. I'd try to learn to surf, and I'd also go fishing.

Pardon me while I burst into flames [05 Dec 2008|03:09am]
i am withdrawing from landmark later today. this is the second time i've done this in less than a year. it doesn't seem as bad as when i withdrew from central. maybe i need some time off school to think about what i really want to do, or maybe now is just not the right time for me to be in school. in any case, i'm really looking forward to seeing my family and friends over winter break (happy birthday mom!), being back in my comfort zone of metro detroit for the first time in almost 4 months, and the holiday season (am i crazy?).

i'll be okay though. it might just take some time. and who knows, i might be back. i've established a lot of strong relationships with faculty, staff, and other students here. my friends aren't taking it too well. i can tell that a lot of them will sincerely miss me. in fact i'd say i met more people that i'm close with here than at cmu. i hope all is well with you, if there's anyone reading this.

"and why do we fall, sir? so that we can learn to pick ourselves up."

Writer's Block: Friends and acquaintances [18 May 2008|12:27am]
What differentiates a friend from an acquaintance? When does one become the other?
"Go through your phone book, call people and ask them to drive you to the airport. The ones who will drive you are your true friends. The rest aren't bad people; they're just acquaintances."

Done [06 May 2008|10:59pm]
I had all my finals today and I feel great. My dad is arriving here late tomorrow night and then it's back to HW in the 500. I might be back around noon, then I can sleep for awhile before the Wings game. I'm trying to grow a playoff beard, but right now all I have is long sideburns, hair on my neck, and a dumb mustache. I look goofy as shit with facial hair. I don't care though, it's tradition. I can't even begin to imagine what kinda shit would go down if the Red Wings AND Pistons won the championship this year. I'd be really happy with one, though. I think the Red Wings have the better chance. That would be absolutely ridiculous. This semester went so much more smoothly than last, even if it was at a different school. More on that later in another note.

I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone recognizes lyrics. Whether I make this a regular thing is to be determined. But today's theme is "driving, on the road, and going home".

1. "Another place, where the faces are so cold...I'd drive all night, just to get back home"
2. "I couldn't wait til I got home, to pass the time in my room alone"
3. "Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway"
4. "Do you think about me now and then?"
5. "It was a beautiful day, the sun beat down...I had the radio on, I was drivin'"
6. "But late at night, somethin' ain't right...I feel I'm being tailed by the same sucker's headlights"

It's not much, but these are just a couple songs I heard today. These seem pretty recognizable and popular.

Like I said, more later. Getting ready to peace outta Putney for awhile.
